I don’t have a gaming laptop but the thought of keeping the CPU and other components cool appealed, as did the blue fan lights. With different adjustments this can be angled to suit and a flap at the bottom stops the laptop from sliding off. There is a speed adjustment and as this quickens so does the brightness of the blue fans, nice. This switches with all five fans on, the four smaller ones on, or just the large centre one, but sadly mine arrived damaged. The large fan didn’t work and was loose inside rattling about and the box was tatty too. On contacting the seller, a replacement was supplied by next day delivery, so good service but the corner of the box was crushed which could be a problem if this was bought as a present. A bit better quality control and this would have got 5 stars.

I have a 17 inch Toshiba Satellite Pro C70-B-34U and the fans,I am told, are badly placed by design... Regardless, I play a lot of (older) games on this laptop and the exhaust fan on the right hand side gets especially hot. Anything that requires Flash also exacerbates the issue. I can honestly say any game designed in the last 10 years that requires a lot of movement will cause my laptop to get hot.

I purchased the KLIM Wind Cooler and it arrived today. I can report back that on its first use with all 4 fans running fully monty, the exhaust fan on my laptop was actually cool, not warm, but COOL. This was whilst playing a game notorious for causing my laptop to get very hot.

I had reservations about utilising one of my USB ports for this contraption, but it can be operated, if desired, from a wall-plugged USB port as well. Having said this, there are 2 USB ports at the back of the stand anyway..

The fans speeds are adjustable and you can use it with 0, 2 or all 4 working using the switches at the back of the stand. There are 2 plastic tabs at the front to prevent your laptop slipping off the stand - I would have preferred for these to be metal for durability, but KLIM give a 5 year warranty, so who am I to argue? The USB cable can be detached and neatly wound and tucked into the base of the stand when not in use - this is a nice touch that appeals to my OCD :p

If this lasts the 5 years stated, it will not only extend the life of my laptop, but probably outlive it
